2) How much does Space software cost?
Space is a modular software which means you only pay for the modules you require. As your company and your needs grow and evolve, you can eventually purchase additional modules which will facilitate managing the various tasks associated with your various leases. Furthermore, the cost of acquiring the modules is established depending on the number of users who will use each one thereby reducing your cost outlay to the barest minimum. The number can be added to as your needs evolve.
3) What is a client/server application?
A true definition might run for several pages but here is the gist of it: a client means a processing unit (PC) on which a part of the processing is done. The server is the area where data and programs are stored. An application (such as Space) using a client/server environment therefore allows sharing the data processing between the server and the units thereby optimizing usage. Also, a client/server application offers an open environment allowing the connection of multiple databases as well as the choice of complementary tools for report production and other tasks.
4) Which equipment configurations are required for Space software?
We must consider two different levels: the processing unit (PC) and the server. For the server, the configuration will vary according to the number of users - we generally recommend an RS/6000 or Pentium II 400Mhz server using SCSI disks. For the running software, you can choose between NT4.0, Novell or AIX/Unix. For the processing units (PC), we recommend Pentium 200Mhz or better, working on a Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT platform.
5) With which database does Space function?
Our applications currently function on Oracle, Sybase and Microsoft SQL.
6) Which report generator does Space use?
Our various modules can be added to any report generator. Those supplied with Space were developed with Crystal Report. For customers wishing to modify the existing reports, it would be preferable to work directly with Crystal Report. The report generator is only useful to those users wishing to develop new reports.
7) Can data be transferred from Space to other programs such as Excel, Lotus or others?
Data produced on a report generator tool such as Crystal Report can be exported to programs such Excel without difficulty. This is only one of the advantages of using relational databases in a client/server environment.
8) Can Space be connected to a central system such as the main accounting system of a company?
It is possible to link the Space software to any mainframe. The key is to evaluate the customers' needs and to see how best this link can be constructed in order to minimise data entering.
9) How is Space software implemented?
Firstly, we establish with you an implementation schedule based on the information provided by your company and the availability of your personnel. User training is done in your office and requires six hours per day. The number of training days is directly related to the modules you purchased and to the number of users to be trained. A project/training manager will be assigned to you in order to train your personnel and to help you, after the implementation, to manage the evolution of your requirements. All our trainers have received training in accounting, real estate and computer sciences. Their experience is a guarantee that your needs will be understood quickly and that their suggestions will help you to better manage your company.
10) What about client support?
Client support is provided mainly by telephone since most of our involvement is to advise you on questions essentially related to managing your business. As for updates of the various modules, these are transmitted by modem through a direct line or by e-mail. Our website also gives you access to a lot of information and to Space folders while regularly providing documentation and answers to your questions.
